Shengke launched 4mA receiving current Sub 1GHz wireless transceiver chip

AMICCOM has released a series of ultra-low receiving current RF transceiver chips. The serial numbers of the chips are A7129 and A7139. This series is the fifth-generation high-performance chip of Shengke Electronics. It uses a self-developed low-current radio frequency architecture, and the receiving current is less than 4mA. It supports unlicensed ISM Band applications below 1GHz.

Both A7129 / A7139 support unlicensed ISM Band applications (300MHz ~ 950MHz) below 1GHz, such as the 470MHz ~ 510MHz selected by China's smart grid, and the 868.3MHz and 868.95MHz bands used by European wireless automatic meter reading, Japan's 310MHz, 433.92MHz common in Europe, America and Asia, 915MHz allowed in the United States and Taiwan. The data rate supports 2Kbps ~ 250Kbps, the modulation method can choose FSK or GFSK, the MCU can operate the RF mode of A7139 and access the built-in 64 Bytes TXFIFO and RXFIFO through the SPI interface.

The biggest advantages of A7129 and A7139 are ultra-low receiving current and super high-quality RF performance. A7129 has a built-in 10dBm PA transmit power, while A7139 increases the PA output to 20dBm transmit power. In the 470MHz ~ 510MHz frequency band, the receiving The device has ultra-high sensitivity (-114dBm @ 10Kbps). Under the condition of 10Kbps, Shengke's reference design (MD7139-A50) can be measured in the open area of the seaside to 1200 meters, and the measured distance of the street can reach 10000 meters. If the data rate is reduced to 2Kbps, the measured distance in the open area will increase to 1600 meters.

In addition to the long-distance transmission capability, the built-in RSSI of A7129 and A7139 can help software engineers to detect clean transmission channels. The chip's internal Auto CalibraTIon mechanism is used to overcome the variation of semiconductor manufacturing processes and can work stably in various environments. , Automatic Frequency Compensation (AFC) function can solve the sensitivity decline caused by RF frequency deviation. In the processing of data, provide direct mode (Direct mode) and FIFO mode. The direct mode is suitable for the MCU to choose its own defined packet format, while the FIFO mode uses the on-chip TXFIFO packet format (including functions such as FEC, CRC and Manchester encoding).

There are many applications suitable for A7129 and A7139, such as AMR wireless automatic meter reading (such as wireless heat meters, gas meters, etc.), long-distance two-way car alarms, industrial controllers, smart building energy management and home automation, etc. Especially applications that are powered by batteries but require long life cycles. In the power management part, it supports Deep sleep mode, Sleep, Idle mode and WOR mode (Wake On RX). The WOR function provides A7129 / A7139 automatic wake-up and receives irregular RF network packets. Deep Sleep mode is equivalent to completely turning off the chip, and its current consumption is only 200 nA.

In addition, the low receiving current mode is provided in the 315MHz, 433MHz and 470MHz frequency bands. A little bit of receiving sensitivity needs to be sacrificed within the acceptable range. The receiving current can be reduced to about 3mA, providing lower power consumption. Overall, the A7129 and A7139 series are a new generation of high-performance RF chips that provide extremely low reception current. The built-in power management function can extend the battery life.

Both the A7129 and A7139 are available in 4 mm x 4 mm QFN-20 packages and are now available.
