Market share accounts for small Korean LED standard draft without injury to Zhongshan Lighting

Last month, South Korea issued the G/TBT/N/KOR/408 Bulletin, the draft standard for fluorescent lamp replacement LED lamps (K10025). However, according to the statistics of the Zhongshan Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the market share of Zhongshan Lamps in South Korea is less than five-thousandths. The introduction of the draft will not have a great impact on Zhongshan Lanzhou.

It is reported that the draft standard deals with the safety standards for LED lamps that can replace straight tube, townhouse and ring fluorescent lamps, and specifies the safety and functional requirements for fluorescent lamp replacement type LE D lamps. Safety requirements include insulation resistance, dielectric strength, and creepage. Distance, clearance, heat and flame resistance, performance requirements include luminous flux, color temperature and point / kill life.

Some experts pointed out that the new regulations put forward extremely high requirements for the materials of the lamps, and the production enterprises will also greatly increase the production costs, and to some extent, weaken the competitiveness of products outside Korea in their domestic markets.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Zhongshan Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the value of lighting products exported by Zhongshan Lighting to South Korea in the first quarter of this year was 1.6 million US dollars, of which only about 50% were LE D lamps. According to the value of the export of Zhongshan lighting last year of 1.33 billion US dollars, the Korean market share only accounts for 4.8 ‰, and the ratio of LE D lamps is smaller. Therefore, the draft standard of LED lights announced by South Korea will not affect Zhongshan Lighting.
