Processor clock speed

The main frequency is also called the clock frequency, and the unit is MHz, which is used to express the operating speed of the CPU. The working frequency (main frequency) of the CPU includes two parts: the FSB and the frequency multiplier, and the product of the two is the main frequency. The frequency multiplier is called the multiplier coefficient. There is a ratio relationship between the main frequency and the FSB of the CPU. This ratio is the multiplication factor, referred to as frequency multiplication. The frequency multiplier can be from 1.5 up to 23 or even higher, with 0.5 as an interval unit. The FSB multiplication by the multiplier is the main frequency, so any one of them can increase the frequency of the CPU. Because the main frequency does not directly represent the operating speed, under certain circumstances, it is likely that the CPU with higher main frequency will actually have a lower operating speed. Therefore, the clock frequency is only one aspect of the performance of the CPU and does not represent the overall performance of the CPU.
