PSA Group installs Gemalto M2M solution for millions of connected cars

Gemalto (European Stock Exchange NL0000400653 GTO) was selected by the PSA Group to install the LinqUs On-Demand Connectivity solution for its next-generation connected car factory to meet the requirements of the GSMA specification. This will give them complete flexibility in subscription management, which is critical for a longer car lifecycle. This also allows PSA Group to implement an efficient remote maintenance system on connected cars, reducing operating expenses and ensuring easy driver updates. Gemalto's on-demand connectivity solution is based on the automotive-grade Cinterion MIM, which can be deployed across all models and regions. This allows automakers to customize connectivity kits for different customer and market requirements around the world and manage them with complete flexibility over a longer vehicle lifecycle.

With Gemalto's solutions, PSA Group is able to offer a wide range of networking services, such as communication between connected vehicles, sophisticated in-vehicle infotainment systems, navigation and emergency services, so that customers do not have to search the service station cumbersomely. Team management and software updates can be done remotely, so Peugeot, Citroën and DS dealerships can check vehicle health in advance and maximize uptime.
