Analysis of General Situation of Development of Photovoltaic Power in China

The overall development of photovoltaic power generation

Affected by the "630" PV tariff policy adjustment, the installed capacity of China's photovoltaic power generation accelerated in the first half of the year. According to the latest statistical data, as of the end of June, the State Grid's deployment scope had a PV installation capacity of 94.63 million kilowatts, an increase of 56% year-on-year. Among them, photovoltaic power plants accumulated 78.42 million kilowatts, 83% of the total photovoltaic installed capacity of the station, mainly distributed in the northwest and north China; distributed photovoltaic cumulative installed capacity of 16.15 million kilowatts, 17% of the total installed capacity of photovoltaic stations, mainly distributed in eastern China .

Photovoltaic power generation newly installed capacity

Newly-installed aircraft have reached new heights. As of the end of June, the national power grid dispatched an additional 22.57 million kilowatts, an increase of 1.8 million kilowatts over the same period last year. Among them, 7 million kilowatts of distributed photovoltaics are newly added, accounting for 30% of the total new capacity.

Distributed photovoltaic accelerates growth

From January to June, cumulative installed capacity of distributed PV increased by 7 million kilowatts, an increase of 516 kilowatts year-on-year, three times the new scale of the same period last year. As of the end of June 2017, the cumulative installed capacity of the State Grid operating area was 16.15 million kilowatts, which was mainly concentrated in East China. The cumulative installed capacity in East China was 8.47 million kilowatts, which accounted for 52% of the total amount of distributed photovoltaic grids.

Decline in the rate of abandonment in the western region

From January to June, the total amount of electricity for the State Grid's dispatch area (excluding Mengxi) was 3.46 billion kWh, up 5% year-on-year, mostly in the northwestern region, and the rate of abandonment was 7.3%, down 4.8 percentage points year-on-year. Among them, the rate of abandonment of light in Xinjiang and Gansu dropped by more than 10%, and that of Qinghai and Ningxia dropped to about 5%.
