Cree Introduces Industry's Higher Brightness and More Efficient Plant Lighting LEDs

Cree announces the introduction of the new high-efficiency XLamp XQ-E and XP-E Photo Red LEDs, the industry's highest performance LEDs optimized for plant lighting. Compared with the previous generation, the new XQ-E and XP-E Photo Red LEDs have a 21% increase in light output, helping plant lighting manufacturers achieve higher performance products, reducing lamp size and reducing system cost.

Rusalox Director Michael Naish said: "The Cree XQ-E product line offers an excellent combination of ultra-compact packaging, high output, and rich color choices for plant lighting. With Cree XQ-E LEDs, combined with our company's unique With AlumOxide technology, our customers are able to develop outstanding plant lighting fixtures with half the power consumption of conventional HPS high pressure sodium lamps. Compared to the prior art, the lamps are smaller and lighter in weight. Cree has higher performance XQ-E The HE (High Efficiency) Photo Red LED will help customers quickly reduce the power consumption of existing product designs and provide a faster payback period."

Cree XQ-E High Efficiency version (HE, High Efficiency) Photo Red LED sets a new performance benchmark that provides up to 5.39 μmol/sec photosynthetic photon at 85C temperature in a package of only 1.6mm x 1.6mm Amount (PPF, Photosynthetic Photon Flux). The output and package size ratio of this new XQ-E LED is more than double that of its competitors.

Cree XP-E High Efficiency Version (HE, High Efficiency) Photo Red LED provides up to 6.08μmol/sec Photosynthetic Photon Flux at 85C and is the first temperature at 85C The LED that breaks through the 1W radiant flux barrier.

Dave Emerson, vice president and general manager of the LED business unit, said: "The new XQ-E and XP-E high-efficiency version (HE, High Efficiency) Photo Red LED brings a high-power performance breakthrough to plant lighting, compared to existing Other LEDs offer double photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD, Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density) and higher output. Our technology can help customers develop higher performance, longer life luminaires that drive LEDs in plant lighting. The adoption of an emerging application area. At the same time, Cree will continue to provide the industry with a richer product portfolio optimized for plant lighting, including white light, Royal Blue, Far Red and many other color options."

XQ and XP LEDs for plant lighting are based on Cree's ceramic-based high-power technology, which provides R90 life of more than 100,000 hours at 105C. At the same time, plant lighting manufacturers can still use the existing drivers and optics with the XQ and XP platforms to speed up the product launch.
