This innovative device fully complies with the upcoming PCIe 3.0 standard, setting a new benchmark for performance and reliability in high-speed data transmission.

IDT retimers are ideal for blade servers, enterprise storage systems, and communication infrastructure. They play a crucial role in the shift from traditional high-performance platforms to cloud computing environments. As these systems transition to 8Gbps PCIe 3.0, the advanced interface of IDT’s retimer ensures optimal performance and stability across a wide range of applications.

The latest additions to IDT’s signal integrity product line include the 89HT0808P and 89HT0816P retimers. These devices offer the broadest range of signal conditioning solutions tailored for enterprise computing and communications. Notably, they are the first in the industry to fully support the new PCIe auto-link balancing protocol, simplifying system design and improving overall reliability when used with any PCIe-compatible expansion card or host bus adapter.

The 8-channel 89HT0808P and 16-channel 89HT0816P retimers support 8Gbps per channel, doubling the distance of traditional PCIe 3.0 devices. By utilizing a typical system backplane, they enhance system performance, reliability, and reduce material costs and design complexity.

The IDT retimers feature a high-performance analog front end, continuous time linear equalizer (CTLE), 5-tap decision feedback equalizer (DFE), and clock and data recovery (CDR) units. This highly sensitive input dynamically optimizes signal recovery, eliminating both random and deterministic jitter beyond the PCIe 3.0 specification.

For quick and easy in-system testing, the IDT retimer includes on-chip oscilloscope functionality along with a full suite of diagnostic loopback features. Evaluation boards and GUI-based software tools are also available for the 89HT0808P and 89HT0816P models, making it easier for engineers to integrate and test the devices efficiently.
