This innovative device is fully compliant with the upcoming PCIe 3.0 standard, setting a new benchmark for performance and reliability.
IDT retimers are ideal for blade servers, enterprise storage systems, and communication infrastructure, playing a key role in the transition from high-performance computing to cloud-based solutions. These systems will initially adopt 8Gbps PCIe 3.0, while the advanced design of IDT’s retimer ensures optimal performance and compatibility across various PCIe-compatible devices.
The IDT 89HT0808P and 89HT0816P retimers are part of a broader range of signal integrity products designed for enterprise computing and communications. As the first in the industry to support the new PCIe auto-link balancing protocol, these retimers simplify system design and enhance reliability, making them a valuable addition to any PCIe ecosystem.

The 8-channel 89HT0808P and 16-channel 89HT0816P retimers support 8Gbps per channel, extending the reach of PCIe 3.0 devices by more than double. By using a typical system backplane, they improve overall performance, reliability, and reduce material costs and design complexity.

These retimers feature a high-performance analog front end, continuous time linear equalizer (CTLE), a 5-tap decision feedback equalizer (DFE), and clock and data recovery (CDR) units. Their sensitive input dynamically optimizes signal recovery, effectively eliminating both random and deterministic jitter beyond PCIe 3.0 specifications.
