That’s why sometimes, users prefer to hide the account instead of completely disabling it. Today, we’ll walk through a method to effectively hide the Administrator account so it remains functional but not visible on the login screen.

If you're using a professional version of Windows, hiding the Administrator account is straightforward—just go to "Local Users and Groups" and make the necessary changes. However, for users running the Home edition, the process is a bit more involved. That's where a clever registry trick comes in handy.

To start, press Win+R and type "netplwiz" to view all the accounts on your system. This step helps you identify the exact username you want to hide. Once confirmed, proceed to the Registry Editor by typing "regedit" in the Run dialog.

Navigate to the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Create a new subkey named “UserList” under the Winlogon folder. Then, right-click on the right side of the window, select "New," and choose "DWORD (32-bit) Value." Name it after the account you want to hide—like "fuxshine2"—and set its value to 0.

After this change, the hidden account will no longer appear on the login screen. However, it still exists and can be used when needed. To show it again, simply change the value back to 1. This method allows you to keep the Administrator account active while keeping it out of sight, making it a great solution for those who want security without losing functionality.
