Microsoft leverages Intel Joule to release the world's first Windows 10-driven robot

On September 4th, the 2016 Intel Developer Forum Conference was held in San Francisco. At this conference, Microsoft demonstrated the world's first robot, Bamboo, powered by Windows10 and Intel Joule.

According to reports, in order to continuously optimize the application of Windows 10 in IoT Core, the upgraded system can support the Intel IoT building block platform Joule. To this end, Microsoft released the world's first robot powered by Windows10 and Intel Joule - Bamboo.

Intel Joule is a platform that converts the concept of a third-party developer into a prototype and puts it into production, with minimal time and cost. As a tiny, low-power, high-performance system module (SOM), the Intel Joule platform provides resources such as computer vision, robotics, drones, industrial IoT, virtual reality, augmented reality, micro-servers, and high-end edge computing.

In addition to Joule, Bamboo also uses Microsoft Azure and CogniTIve Services to help robots perform sentiment analysis and translation. It is reported that Bamboo can translate any language on Twitter into English. Bamboo can use the EZ-Robot EZ-B control system to move and use the interconnected system of Intel Joule and RealSense cameras to understand the surrounding environment to identify the user's mood and the surrounding environment and react in real time.

Microsoft said that anyone can use Intel Joule and Windows 10 IoT Core to bring their ideas to real life.
