"‘Mom, look! The blood vessels in my hands are glowing! If I have this machine, I won’t be scared of needles anymore!’ On December 28, 2017, a young visitor excitedly shared his experience with the infrared blood vessel imager, one of the highlights of the event titled ‘Innovation Drives the Development of Science and Technology to Lead the Future — The Academy of Science and Technology Innovation Annual Tour 2017.’ The event took place at the Beijing Planetarium that afternoon, where visitors were immersed in the latest scientific achievements from the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
The exhibition showcased key areas such as deep space exploration, deep-sea research, life sciences, ecology, agriculture, and large-scale scientific facilities. These topics were presented through interactive and engaging methods to make science more accessible to the public. Visitors had the chance to see cutting-edge technologies up close and learn about how these innovations are shaping the future.
The tour was organized by the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Bureau of Science and Communications and the Document and Information Center, with support from the Beijing Planetarium, the Computer Network Information Center, and the Technology Industrialization Network Alliance. According to organizers, the exhibition will continue after the Spring Festival, offering more people the opportunity to explore the wonders of science.
