In fact, the machine has been purchased for over four months. It's only now that we've started selling single sheets. Everyone will see it soon.
**Reasons to Purchase**
I've always wanted a mini cannon, even though I don't play games much. We already have a game console at home, so this purchase was purely for fun. Boredom can be filled by connecting to the TV, which is better than those OS or TV OS systems. Watching movies, listening to songs, and even singing are all really cool features.
The ITX motherboard options seem limited. The collection of three generations was too poor, so I had to go with the fourth generation. Why not 5th or 6th? Well, the 32GB memory on my desktop felt like a waste, so I removed the 16GB from the desktop. Now that memory prices are high, I don’t plan to upgrade, so I ended up choosing the Gigabyte B85N Phoenix.

So, I decided on the next big configuration:
- **Motherboard:** B85N Phoenix Wi-Fi 2.0
- **Memory:** Zhiqi DDR3 8GB *2
- **CPU:** i5 4590
Since JD.com wasn’t an option, but I wanted something affordable, I did some treasure hunting. I searched for the B85N Phoenix and the i5 4590, and eventually bought them. Once the main components were in place, I moved on to the hard drive, case, power supply, and cooler.
For the power supply, case, and heatsink, I looked for new ones. I found a store that offered a radiator, and since they also sold cases, I bought both there. I had to wait a few days for the radiator and then another few days for the case. It wasn’t the smoothest process, but it worked out in the end.
**SSD**
At the end of the day, I went with an SSD. After the NVMe drives came out, I was really impressed. At the same price, the M.2 read speed was 4.5 times faster and write speed twice as fast. I had always wanted one, and the B85 motherboard didn’t support NVMe natively, but after checking online, I found that many users had successfully enabled NVMe via BIOS updates. So I decided to go with the legendary SM961 NVMe drive.
**NVMe Hard Disk Adapter**
I needed an NVMe adapter because the ITX chassis doesn’t support it directly. I found the right PCIe 3.0 adapter and confirmed the product height with customer service before purchasing.
**Wireless Network Card**
The board comes with Bluetooth and a wireless card, so no need to add anything extra. Just use what’s already there.
**Appearance Gallery**
Here are some photos of the final build. The hardware was already installed, and I took a few shots of the inside and outside. The chassis is small, delicate, and very heavy. It's almost the same size as a mini box (197 x 197 x 36mm), but the actual dimensions are 244 (length) x 84 (width) x 217 mm. The design allows for better heat dissipation with more vents.

After installation, I removed the side panel to show off the internal layout. The white cooling fan looks great against the wood finish.

The NVMe SSD is inserted into the PCIe 3.0 slot, which should allow full speed performance.

**Important Note:** Updating the BIOS to support NVMe is risky unless it's officially supported. I took the chance and it worked out. Many people try it without success. If your motherboard supports NVMe officially, check the official website for the latest BIOS update. Otherwise, proceed with caution.
After successfully updating the BIOS, the system booted from the NVMe drive.

This is the look after the system is running. The NVMe riser card is blue and slightly flashy.

The B85 motherboard runs at full speed through the PCIe 3.0 graphics slot.

Next is macOS 10.12.

**Summary**
As a small "steel cannon," this build works perfectly. With an i5, 16GB RAM, and a 256GB NVMe SSD, it handles everything smoothly. The cooling is excellent, with temperatures staying under 60°C under load and around 25°C when idle. The cooling fan is nearly silent, making it a quiet and powerful little machine.
