At the beginning of this year, a user mentioned that their TV started having issues. The TV worked fine when it was stationary, but whenever they moved it, the screen would show strange patterns, horizontal or vertical lines, and the sound would sometimes have interference. Occasionally, the TV would shut down and then turn back on, showing a cross line or a normal image if moved again. I initially thought it might be a loose connection between the logic board and the display cable.
They took it to a repair shop and replaced the logic board, but the problem remained. It was confusing because the issue didn't seem to be related to the motherboard itself. However, after checking the screen edges and removing static electricity, we found that pressing the right-side COF cable caused the image problems. After several tests, we determined that the side board was faulty.
We tried hot pressing with a soldering iron, but that didn’t fix the issue. So, we carefully removed some of the adhesive and applied rosin solution using a soldering iron and a magnifying glass. After several attempts, we successfully fixed the problem. The sense of achievement was incredible — it felt like a small victory after so much effort.
In the future, if you encounter similar issues, don’t immediately assume it’s a screen problem. Sometimes, it could just be a poor contact. With careful checking and some hands-on work, you might be able to fix it yourself. I hope this experience helps others who are facing similar challenges. Don’t give up — there's always a way to solve it.
